Reebok is making a return to the golf world by partnering with Bryson DeChambeau and Crushers GC, a team in the LIV Golf League. The long-term collaboration designates Reebok as the official apparel and footwear sponsor for DeChambeau and his team. This partnership marks Reebok’s re-entry into the Performance Golf category, with plans to launch new products and initiatives.

Starting in March 2025, Reebok will introduce DeChambeau as the face of its Golf apparel and footwear line, including the debut of Nano Golf, a new on-course performance shoe. The Crushers GC team, which includes Paul Casey, Charles Howell III, and Anirban Lahiri, will compete in head-to-toe Reebok gear. Fans can also purchase official team kits, featuring polos, outerwear, pants, shorts and golf shoes, on Reebok’s website and at LIV Golf events.

Bryson DeChambeau, a two-time major champion spoke about the partnership. “Reebok aligns perfectly with our vision for the future of golf,” said DeChambeau. “We’re eager to push the sport to new heights and broaden its appeal to a global audience.” DeChambeau has achieved 13 professional wins, including two individual titles in the 2023 LIV Golf League season, and had a record-breaking 58 in the final round at The Greenbrier.

Reebok and DeChambeau also plan to launch digital campaigns and community activations to make golf more accessible. These initiatives will include affordably priced products and outreach programs to support individuals with limited access to the sport. DeChambeau’s curated collection, “Bryson’s Picks,” featuring his favorite training gear, will be available ahead of the official golf line launch.

Todd Krinsky, Reebok’s CEO, highlighted the brand’s goal to move beyond traditional golf norms. “Bryson has brought fresh energy to the game, and we’re thrilled to work together to reintroduce Reebok Golf with a contemporary perspective,” Krinsky said.

Remote personal training, Hyrox and the “30-30-30” rule saw big search increases over the past year, which bodes well for their popularity in 2025

Fitness trends come and go, but search data can offer insight into how people prioritize health and wellness. Fitness search data from the past year demonstrates the rise of emerging movements and nostalgic favorites, along with the fall of some former fitness fads.

Athletech News breaks down the fitness trends that saw the biggest increases in Google search activity in 2024, according to data from PureGym’s annual fitness report.

Remote Personal Training Tops the Charts

Leading the pack as the fastest-growing fitness trend of 2024 is remote personal training, which saw a 414% increase in interest year-over-year. Once a necessity during the pandemic, virtual training has evolved into a preferred choice for many consumers.

Hyrox Grows in Awareness, Popularity

Another highlight of 2024 was the continued rise of Hyrox, a competitive fitness race that combines endurance and functional strength.

Hyrox had a 233% increase in searches year-on-year, likely due in part to international expansion. One in ten people planning to participate in a fitness-themed event in 2024 either entered or planned to enter a Hyrox event, according to PureGym data.

TikTok’s Influence: The ’30-30-30 Rule’

TikTok’s impact on health and fitness trends remains undeniable, with the “30-30-30 rule” emerging as a standout trend in 2024. Searches for this concept—which involves eating 30 grams of protein within 30 minutes of waking up, followed by 30 minutes of low-intensity exercise—spiked by 175%.

The rule’s resurgence is largely credited to TikTok personality and biologist/biohacker Gary Brecka, whose videos have brought renewed attention to this weight-loss strategy.

Back to Basics: Primal Fitness, ‘Quadrobics’ See Spikes

“Quadrobics,” a full-body workout inspired by animal movements, saw a 174% increase in searches. Primal fitness – which also includes movements like crawling, climbing, and balancing – has become popular for its focus on natural, functional movements. Many fitness enthusiasts are drawn to these workouts for their ability to improve overall body awareness, coordination, and core strength.

Nostalgia Returns With Step Aerobics, Rollerblading

Retro fitness trends made a major comeback in 2024, with step aerobics (+124%) and rollerblading (+123%) ranking among the top searches. Step aerobics, in particular, has found new life through creative choreography and integration into high-energy group classes. Rollerblading has also become a popular way to combine cardio and outdoor fun.

Other Trending Searches

Other notable fitness searches in 2024 included:

  • Stroller Fitness (+127%): This trend caters to parents looking to stay active while spending quality time with their little ones.
  • Functional Fitness (+124%): The versatile training style continues to attract a dedicated following.
  • Hiking (+122%): The activity increased in popularity as people sought ways to stay fit and connect with nature.

Fitness Fads Lose Ground

Wall Pilates, which involves using a wall for extra resistance, experienced a 55% decline in searches as the year progressed. Similarly, TikTok-driven trends like soft hiking, a more relaxed approach to the activity (-56%), and 12-3-30, a popular treadmill activity that involves walking at an inclination of 12% at 3 miles per hour for 30 minutes (-55%), saw significant drops in interest.

Data for this article was sourced from PureGym’s annual UK Fitness Report, which ranked 2024 trends based on percentage increase in Google searches between July – September 2023 and July – September 2024.

The personalized nutrition company is designed to cater to the estimated 15% of individuals with special health needs

Bioniq, a personalized nutrition company, has unveiled its latest innovation: Bioniq Build Your Own. Designed to cater to the estimated 15% of individuals with special health needs, this hyper-personalized supplement solution enables consumers to create tailored formulas addressing allergies, vitamin and mineral intolerances, as well as other unique health requirements.

This launch marks a pivotal step in Bioniq’s mission to reshape the supplements market, an industry projected to grow annually by 6.74% and reach $44.24 billion by 2029. Following the success of Bioniq GO in 2023, the company’s Build Your Own platform represents its most significant advancement yet, particularly as demand from the U.S. market surges.

“Bioniq is the only company capable of offering an extensive list of vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients in flexible dosages, thanks to our AI-driven approach and innovative granular delivery system,” said Oliver Motisi, Chief Product Officer at Bioniq.

“This unique approach empowers individuals with chronic diagnoses or specific health conditions to create supplement blends tailored to their needs, improving quality of life on a global scale.”

Bioniq Build Your Own enables users to select from over 50 nutrients, either following Bioniq’s data-driven formula recommendations or curating a fully customized blend. The supplements leverage Bioniq’s patented granular dosage form to ensure high bioavailability and efficacy.

The platform is powered by Bioniq’s proprietary AI algorithm, which evaluates users’ blood biomarker data alongside self-reported health metrics, such as height, weight, age, lifestyle and health goals. This process identifies micronutrient imbalances and delivers a tailored supplement solution, alongside daily nutrient support, nutrition consultations and educational resources.

Recent data underscores the effectiveness of Bioniq’s approach:

  • 94% of clients optimized Ferritin levels within 6 months.
  • 86% of clients optimized Zinc levels within 6 months.
  • 82% of clients optimized Vitamin E levels within 6 months.

These findings align with a recent poll revealing that 86% of individuals find the lack of measurable results the most frustrating aspect of traditional supplements.

Bioniq’s user base grew fivefold in 2024, and its products are now sold in over 70 countries. Its success has attracted high-profile partnerships with leading health and sports organizations, including Lanserhof and UFC. The company also recently announced an investment by global football icon Cristiano Ronaldo, raising its valuation to $82 million. This follows a successful Series B round led by HV Capital and Unbound, which raised $15 million to fuel further growth and product development.

“By combining advanced blood biomarker analysis with personalized formulas, Bioniq is not just meeting demand — it’s redefining how people approach their health,” added Motisi.

The wearable company outlines global insights from their members’ activity, sleep and recovery data

Oura has unveiled its 2024 Year in Review, an in-depth look at the sleep, activity, recovery and stress resilience trends of its global community. The report aggregates insights from Oura members worldwide but also introduces personalized personality types based on health strengths: Earth (Resilience), Water (Sleep), and Fire (Activity). Oura’s data scientists analyzed de-identified, aggregated metrics collected from December 2023 through November 2024 to create the insights.

Global Sleep Trends

New Zealand led the pack with an impressive average Sleep Score of 79.8, closely followed by Australia (78.7), Sweden (78.5), Finland (78.4), and Austria (78.2). This trend highlights the sleep-centric lifestyles of Oceania and Scandinavia, regions known for their wellness-oriented cultures. The global mean Sleep Score across all Oura members was 77.0, reflecting a strong focus on nightly rest among users worldwide.

Most Active Nations

When it comes to movement, Ireland topped the charts, with members averaging just over 10,000 steps per day. Other European countries, including Estonia, Sweden, and the UK, were not far behind. The data points to Europe’s pedestrian-friendly infrastructure and active lifestyles as key factors in these high step counts. Research has long shown the cardiovascular and metabolic benefits of walking, with studies suggesting that even 7,000 steps per day can significantly enhance health.

Stress Levels

Interestingly, stress patterns varied widely. While Sundays recorded the least “stressed minutes,” Fridays, perhaps due to celebrations, ranked as the most stressful. The United States topped the list for average daily stressed minutes, followed by Norway and the Netherlands.

Introducing Health Personalities: Fire, Water & Earth

This year, Oura debuted Health Personality Types, offering members personalized insights into their strengths. Fire represents activity and includes members who consistently met their movement goals. Water reflects strong sleep habits, with members in this group prioritizing nightly rest. Earth symbolizes resilience: members who balance stress and recovery with ease. A small majority of members were characterized as Fire, demonstrating a commitment to being active.

Cardiovascular Age

Oura’s Cardiovascular Age (CVA) feature, launched in May 2024, estimates arterial health through pulse wave velocity (PWV). This metric revealed that members in Sweden and Norway had CVAs approximately 2.6 and 2.4 years below their chronological ages, reflecting exceptional cardiovascular health. The Netherlands, known for its cycling culture, also ranked highly in this category.

Oura members can find their personalized year in review in the app by navigating to the Today tab or accessing the Reports section in the menu. The latest Oura app version is required, and members with at least 60 days of data are eligible. Members can also share their achievements with friends and family by tapping the share icon within the app.

The brand’s workout platform offers a wide variety of pre-recorded classes, from yoga to running to sleep therapy

Alo Moves is an online library of wellness classes created by the trendy athleisure brand. Beyond just HIIT, Pilates, yoga and strength training, Alo Moves also offers nutrition, breathwork and meditation classes. With so many online workout platforms, how does Alo Moves stack up? Athletech News put the platform to the test.

Pros

One of the big benefits of Alo Moves is its sheer range of over 2,500 classes. Alo Moves’ yoga classes include hatha, kids yoga, kundalini, prenatal and restorative classes. Although created by Alo Yoga, the platform is so much more than just yoga. Its fitness classes include extensive offerings across barre, dance, gym, HIIT, Pilates, running, sculpt and strength. The platform is not just about fitness; it even offers mindfulness classes including reiki, sound therapy, cycle syncing, personal growth and sleep guidance. The platform also shares recipes, from Nori Salad Wraps to a Green Lemonade Detox Juice.

The platform is easy to navigate, whether the user is browsing or looking for a specific class. Alo Moves also offers the option to take each class with or without music, which can make or break a game for some users. It’s also easy to navigate based on difficulty level, duration, instructor or specific intention. For example, users can filter based on skills such as arm balances, backbends or inversions. Alo Moves also offers series like 5-Day Sculpt Strength or a 4-week run series to build endurance. The platform is aesthetically pleasing, with beautiful backgrounds and settings to transport users from their living rooms.

Alo Moves is reasonably priced for its offerings, at $12.99 per month or $129.99 annually. It comes with a 14-day free trial so users can try out the platform before committing.

Cons

The platform does not offer live classes, which might be a dealbreaker for those who need additional motivation. Although a good problem to have, the sheer variety of classes may also bring about decision paralysis for indecisive users who want more streamlined options.

Although the platform offers plenty that is not yoga, if you have no interest in yoga or yoga-adjacent activities like Pilates or barre, Alo Moves may not be your best option. It also does not offer fully personalized plans, but you can use the playlist feature to customize routines.

Overall, Alo Moves is a versatile workout platform with a wide breadth of options, a perfect holiday gift for a fitness enthusiast.

Whoop’s year-end report draws on its community’s trends and insights, revealing sleep performance drives the largest positive impact across all generations

The WHOOP 2024 Year in Review reveals a year of transformative shifts in fitness and wellness. From the rise of walking as a global favorite to the growing embrace of strength training and low-impact workouts, these trends highlight how people are redefining movement, recovery, and overall health. This year’s data offers a glimpse into the evolving priorities shaping a more accessible, balanced, and sustainable approach to fitness.

Sleep Insights: Generational & Monthly Trends

Sleep habits remained a cornerstone of wellbeing for Whoop members in 2024. Gen Z is the most well-rested generation, logging an average of 416 minutes of sleep per night, while Boomers slept the least, averaging 399 minutes. Interestingly, Gen Z’s average bedtime of 12:21 AM was significantly later than Boomers’ 10:48 PM, demonstrating more nocturnal patterns.

Whoop’s month-to-month analysis showed that January led the year in sleep duration (418.8 minutes), reflecting post-holiday recovery efforts, while June saw the least sleep (409 minutes). Sundays consistently ranked highest for sleep performance (79.1%), emphasizing the importance of rest before the workweek.

Recovery & Behavior Patterns

Recovery was influenced heavily by behaviors, with sleep performance driving the largest positive impact across all generations (+9.9% on average). Alcohol consumption most negatively impacted performance, which reduced recovery scores by an average of -12%. Gen Z’s recovery was particularly sensitive, as alcohol consumption hurt their recovery more significantly (-13.3%) compared to Boomers (-8.3%).

Shared sleeping environments and routines also played a role in recovery. Sleeping in a shared bed improved recovery by +2.3%, while sleeping in one’s own bed provided a slight boost of +1.6%. Meanwhile, meditation emerged as the most popular recovery activity, accounting for 27% of all recovery-related entries.

Fitness & Activity Trends

Aligned with the current fitness interest in low-impact movement, particularly walking, and mind-body practices such as yoga (+25%) and Pilates (+23%), which surged among female members. Powerlifting also gained traction among women (+19%), reflecting a broader cultural shift toward strength training and heavy lifting. Activities like as HIIT and functional fitness declined among both genders, with HIIT participation dropping by -21% among women and -19% among men.

Stress & Alcohol Trends

Gen Z members reported being the most stressed (30%), a stark contrast to Gen X, who logged the least stress (39.9%). Stress levels appeared to correlate with generational recovery patterns, as Gen Z had the lowest consistency and efficiency in their sleep patterns but the highest sensitivity to recovery-boosting and hindering factors.

Alcohol consumption trends showed a marked decline across all generations. In 2024, only 31.7% of members reported drinking, compared to 41.6% in 2021. While Gen Z drank the least frequently, they consumed the most per occasion, averaging 3.8 drinks.

The Rise of Protein & Strength Training Awareness

Protein intake surged among both men and women, with affirmation rates jumping to 59% and 60% respectively. This coincided with an increased interest in strength training activities, particularly among women. Powerlifting, in particular, gained traction as more women embraced the benefits of lifting heavy.

Looking Ahead

The data from 2024 underscores a collective shift toward certain health practices. Members increasingly value low-impact fitness, protein consumption, and consistent recovery habits. In the Whoop community and beyond, there is growing awareness of long-term wellness over short-term performance.

Therabody’s base model is a perfect holiday gift for a loved one who wants an effective but simpler (and more affordable) massage gun

As the flagship massage device from wellness tech company Therabody, Theraguns are popular tools for relieving muscle pain and soreness, reducing tension and improving circulation.

Therabody’s Theragun Prime model is an easy-to-use, more affordable version of the tool, perfect for a loved one or family member who might want a simpler way to access percussive therapy.

Athletech News tested the Theragun Prime to see how it compares to other percussive therapy devices and massage guns on the market.

Pros

The Theragun Prime has five speeds that you can either control with the app or on the gun itself. It’s powerful, with speeds up to 2400 PPM, along with a 120-minute total battery life and the quintessential Theragun ergonomic triangle multi-grip.

At $299 (on sale for $199) the Theragun Prime is significantly cheaper than other Theragun models, compared to the $599 Pro Plus and the $399 Prime Plus. The Prime is also the same weight (and much of the same functionality) as the Elite, at 2.2 pounds, but is around $100 less expensive.

The Prime is much quieter than other massage guns on the market, with a scratch-resistant design perfect for gym visits. It comes with four attachment heads, including the Heated Percussive Plus Attachment, the Standard Ball Plus Attachment, the Dampener Plus Attachment, and the Wedge Plus Attachment, which is perfect for specific areas around the shoulder blades and IT bands.

I found that the Theragun Prime was perfect for workout warmups and recovery, and using it 3-4 times a week for 5-10 minutes significantly reduced pain and soreness, even from working at a desk. It was surprisingly easy to reach even the upper back due to the ergonomic and triangular design of the massage gun.

Cons

With only four head attachments, the Theragun Prime has fewer than other models, which could come into play for those who want to target very specific areas of the body. It’s also not the most portable, particularly compared to the Mini, which is perfect to stick in a gym bag.

In addition, while the Therabody app is a comprehensive and well-designed tool, for those who want to use the Prime in a standalone manner, the product isn’t as comprehensive as the Theragun Pro Plus’s screen.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the Theragun Prime is a more affordable tool for percussive therapy, with a quieter and more effective design than other models. Right now, it’s $199 (compared to $299 normally) for the holiday season, and it’s HSA and FSA-friendly.

The platform’s annual report has been released, with a comprehensive view into current fitness timing, trends and 2025 predictions

ClassPass is closing out 2024 having expanded into food and beverage offerings and is gearing up for an initial public offering, but before the year wraps up, the fitness and wellness platform is taking a moment to reflect on the year’s top workout and wellness trends.

Here are some highlights from the ClassPass Annual Look Back report, which covers trends based on reservation data from October 2023 to October 2024.

Pilates, Ice Skating & Massage Top the Charts

Pilates saw an +84% increase in bookings this year, according to ClassPass, paving the way for the popular fitness method to secure the top spot for the second year. In the home fitness space, Pilates equipment also shows significant promise – as seen by connected Reformer maker Reform RX, Merrithew and Basi Systems.

Notably, low-impact training also saw an increase in reservations (109%), demonstrating an interest in more fitness-newbie-friendly and accessible fitness.

While Pilates dominated, ice skating took center stage as the year’s breakout trend, with a 698% increase in reservations. Its rise reflects a broader interest in unique and non-traditional fitness activities, spurred by cultural moments like the Winter Olympics and increased social media visibility. Team sports like volleyball and soccer also saw significant growth, with volleyball bookings increasing by 256% and soccer by 158%. These trends highlight a resurgence in community-oriented and recreational fitness.

In the wellness space, massage retained their title as the most-booked appointment, with a 39% increase in reservations globally. However, new data-driven practices like body scans surged by 159%, as users sought precise insights into their health and fitness progress. Similarly, cosmetic treatments grew by 133%, and body sculpting increased by 90%, reflecting a growing interest in targeted, results-focused wellness services.

Global Booking Habits: Who Works Out & When

ClassPass data revealed intriguing patterns in booking behavior. Tuesday emerged as the most popular day for workouts, with Friday dominating as the top day for wellness appointments. Weekday workouts peaked at 5:30 p.m., aligning with post-work schedules, while weekend sessions were most commonly booked at 10:00 a.m., reflecting a more relaxed start to the day. September overtook October as the busiest month for fitness, signaling a “back-to-business” mindset at the end of summer.

The most fitness-forward cities included New York Metro, which led all global markets in total reservations, followed by Los Angeles, London, Amsterdam and Singapore. Travel also influenced booking habits, with 7.7% of ClassPass users participating in fitness activities while on the road. U.S. travelers led the way, with 14% of users booking classes outside their home market, followed closely by Germany at 13%.

Specific cities showcased unique trends: Zürich residents were the most likely to book fitness classes more than three days in advance, while Basel led in lunchtime workout reservations. Outdoor workouts saw a surge in Santa Cruz, California, which topped the list for on-the-go fitness in scenic locales.

Pop Culture & Recovery Practices Shape 2024

Pop culture remained a driving force behind fitness trends. Themed classes continued to thrive, with Taylor Swift-inspired sessions drawing over 15,000 reservations. Beyoncé, Drake and Justin Bieber were also top picks for music-driven workouts.

Recovery practices gained renewed attention, with yoga, sauna sessions and massages frequently booked as post-workout activities. For example, sauna use was particularly common after Pilates, while yoga was a top choice for runners looking to stretch and unwind.

Looking Ahead to 2025

The activewear giant is gaining recognition in the men’s market, outpacing brands like Vuori, Alo and others, a survey shows

A new survey conducted by tracking organization Tracksuit highlights Lululemon’s significant gains in the U.S. men’s performance wear market over the past year. With 9,022 qualified participants sharing insights into their preferences and brand awareness, Lululemon is a standout performer in a competitive and rapidly growing category.

Steady Growth in Awareness & Category Penetration

Between November 2023 and October 2024, overall awareness of the men’s performance wear category increased from 72% to 77%, reflecting a broader interest in clothing that combines comfort, flexibility and functionality for everyday use, according to the survey. Lululemon capitalized on this trend with a remarkable 10% increase in awareness, rising from 51% to 61% among all respondents. This growth significantly outpaced the average awareness increase for competitors, which held steady at just 24%.

Among the core demographic of men aged 34 to 65, Lululemon saw an even greater increase in awareness, climbing from 54% to 67%, a 13% gain. In contrast, competitors such as Bonobos (24% to 21%) and Faherty (12% to 8%) experienced declines, while Vuori and Alo for Men saw modest, non-significant increases.

Rising Consideration Metrics

Lululemon’s consideration metrics also trended positively, rising from 33% to 36% across all respondents, representing a statistically significant 3% increase. This indicates a growing number of consumers are not only familiar with the brand but are also considering it for future purchases.

Conversely, brands like Bonobos and Faherty saw their consideration decline, with Bonobos dropping from 14% to 11% and Faherty falling from 9% to 6%. Competitors like Vuori and Alo for Men saw slight increases, but these changes were not statistically significant, underscoring Lululemon’s strong position in capturing market interest.

What Drives Lululemon’s Success

Survey participants highlighted several attributes where Lululemon excels.

  • Versatility: Lululemon’s reputation for creating clothing ideal for an active lifestyle remains a key strength, appealing to consumers seeking multi-functional apparel.
  • Premium Quality: The brand’s association with durable, high-performance materials continues to resonate with buyers prioritizing longevity and comfort.
  • Innovation: Respondents view Lululemon as a leader in incorporating modern, performance-focused designs that adapt to evolving consumer needs.

The survey also pointed to areas where competitors perform well. Alo for Men, for instance, ranked highest on the perception of being “for people like me,” a critical factor in driving consumer preference.

Expanding Interest in Men’s Performance Wear

The survey reveals an expanding interest in men’s performance wear across the board, with category penetration growing by 5% year-over-year.

While Lululemon leads in awareness and consideration gains, competitors like Vuori and Alo for Men are carving out niches with targeted messaging and offerings. Vuori, for example, saw a slight increase in awareness among men aged 34 to 65, rising from 14% to 17%. In contrast, traditional players such as Bonobos and Faherty are struggling to maintain their foothold, with both brands experiencing declines in awareness and consideration.

As awareness and consideration continue to grow, Lululemon is well-poised to further expand its influence in the men’s performance wear market. However, competitors like Alo are quickly gaining market share, signaling the Vancouver-based brand’s need to continue to drive consumer engagement and high-quality apparel.

With longevity trendier than ever before, the new show dives into the science of living longer, healthier lives

Aging is inevitable has long been an accepted truth, but recent longevity breakthroughs have challenged this assumption. In the wellness community, a growing movement is focused on extending not just lifespan but healthspan, or the years spent in good health. Longevity Hackers, a new documentary narrated by Edward Norton, delves into these advancements, offering viewers insights into the science and practices that could redefine aging. Now streaming on Apple TV and Amazon, the film features leading experts and figures who are pushing the boundaries of what it means to grow older.

Produced by Ruben Figueres and directed by Michal Siewierski, Longevity Hackers examines the latest research on aging, the technologies accelerating change, and the everyday choices that can make a significant difference in longevity. With the global longevity market expected to surpass $600 billion by 2025, the documentary is well-timed with the explosive growth of the category.

Living Longer, Living Well

The longevity movement is not new, but it has grown more mainstream in recent years as figures like Dr. David Sinclair, author of Lifespan: Why We Age and Why We Don’t Have To, and Dr. Peter Attia, a longevity physician and host of The Drive podcast, have brought these ideas to the forefront.

Joining this chorus in Longevity Hackers are voices like entrepreneur and investor Peter Diamandis, biohacker and NOVOS CEO Chris Mirabile, and endurance athlete Wim Hof. Other cultural figures tied to the movement are Tony Robbins, Mark Cuban, Tony Hawk, and Steve Aoki who explore how cutting-edge science and simple lifestyle interventions can help extend healthy years.

Advances in fields like regenerative medicine, cellular health, and wearable technology are opening new doors in the longevity space. Biological age clocks, for instance, are gaining attention as a more accurate measure of health than chronological age, offering individuals a way to track the impact of lifestyle choices on their aging trajectory.

“Biological age is becoming the premier biomarker of our health,” says Chris Mirabile in the film. “The best way to keep track of your lifestyle being conducive to longevity is with a biological age clock, specifically one that’s been proven to be both accurate and precise.”

Experts in Longevity Hackers discuss the connection between stress reduction and cellular health, the metabolic importance of quality sleep, and the role of purpose and joy in overall well-being.

“Aging affects every person, regardless of race, religion, political orientation or any other factors. The fight against aging is something that could unite humanity for a common goal,” says producer Ruben Figueres, reflecting on the universal appeal of longevity science.

Wide Appeal + Blue Zones

Longevity Hackers also comes at a time when the longevity movement is expanding beyond elite circles of biohackers and researchers to broader populations. Initiatives like the Blue Zones Project have shown how communities worldwide—such as those in Okinawa, Japan, and Sardinia, Italy—achieve remarkable longevity through social connection, plant-forward diets, and active lifestyles. With only 10% to 20% of lifespan determined by genetics, Longevity Hackers aims to inspire viewers to take proactive steps to maximize their healthy years.

Edward Norton, whose voice guides viewers through the documentary, stated, “No matter where you are from, or what your beliefs are, we can all agree that life is a gift that should be cherished. The people working in the longevity and life extension fields want to extend that gift to humanity.”

The mask targets acne, inflammation and scarring with red and blue light therapy

Striving for clear, healthy skin without expensive clinical treatments can feel out of reach. At-home LED light therapy masks, like the Omnilux CLEAR, however, has made high-quality skincare more accessible. The FDA-cleared device targets acne, inflammation, and scarring with red and blue light therapy. After putting the Omnilux Clear to the test, here’s how it stacks up as a potential game-changer in one’s skincare routine.

Pros
The Omnilux Clear mask combines blue and red light for effectiveness. Blue light kills acne-causing bacteria on the skin’s surface, while red light inflammation, calms redness and promotes healing by stimulating collagen production. Unlike some masks, Omnilux Clear is gentle on the skin, with minimal side effects apart from some mild redness.

The mask is also made of a flexible silicone material that is comfortable and perfect for traveling. Wearing it for 10 minutes, 3-4 times a week can have a significant impact on reduced acne and improved skin texture. While the $395 price tag may seem steep, professional acne treatments can run $200 or more per session. It’s also great to have on-demand for skin issues that pop up unexpectedly.

Cons
At $395, the Omnilux Clear is more expensive than many other LED therapy masks. However, its efficacy and acne-fighting focus may justify the price for those with pesky skin issues. One callout is that you cannot separate the blue and red light, so if you get your breakouts under control, you may not have a use for the mask anymore. Blue light is largely recommended for short-term use because it can dehydrate the skin.

Unlike competitors, like the Therabody TheraFace Mask, which has more protection around the eyes, protective eyewear is also likely suggested for the Omnilux Clear, especially if you have sensitive eyes.

Overall, the Omnilux CLEAR LED Light Therapy Mask is a powerful tool for those looking to combat acne naturally and effectively. While the upfront cost may feel like a splurge, the long-term benefits of the Omnilux Clear after just 30-40 minutes of use per week may be worth it for those with persistent inflammatory skin issues.

The social fitness app’s report highlights the biggest fitness trends of 2024, and what to expect in 2025

With over 135 million users and billions of logged activities, Strava highlights key fitness trends across the world. The Strava 2024 Year in Sport report highlights these trends, providing a comprehensive overview of the current fitness landscape.

credit: Strava

Social Fitness on the Rise

In 2024, group activities became more popular than ever. Running led the way, with a 59% increase in running clubs and an 18% rise in group runs of 10 or more participants. Walking clubs saw a 52% growth. Sixty-six percent of Gen Z users reported making new friends through fitness groups, while 55% said that social interaction was their main reason for participating. One in five Gen Z respondents also met dates through group activities, underscoring a new role for fitness.

Credit: Strava

Balance & Recovery

The report also shows a trend toward more sustainable workout practices. The median activity length was 53 minutes, with most participants favoring shorter sessions. Among amateur Strava users, those who cross-trained were 10% more likely to meet their goals. Marathon trainees also recorded rest days for over half of their training cycles.

Overcoming Fitness Barriers

Strava’s data also highlighted barriers to fitness like schedule flexibility, particularly for women. Despite these challenges, women increased their participation, with an 11% rise in cycling and a 25% growth in weight training uploads. Women were also more likely than men to earn Strava Segment crowns, signaling strong performance trends.

Generational differences were evident in fitness goals. Gen Z participants prioritized mental health, while older generations focused on longevity. Boomers consistently recorded the highest weekly distances in running and cycling.

Gear Trends of 2024

The report also revealed gear preferences among users. Nike Pegasus topped the list of running shoes, while Garmin dominated tracking devices. Carbon fiber-plated shoes gained popularity, and featured in 44% of marathons logged, a 14% increase from 2023.

Generational differences extended to workout apparel. Gen Z favored coordinated outfits and oversized T-shirts, while older users preferred functional, understated attire. Black remained the most popular color for workout gear, with blue showing signs of increased preference for 2025.

Strava’s 2024 Year in Sport report underscores a broader cultural shift toward sustainable and social fitness practices, setting the stage for continued fitness growth and inclusivity in 2025.

The workout, known for its efficient and effective circuit workouts, will be located at 68 Thomas Street in Tribeca

SotoMethod, the fitness method founded by former finance professional and celebrity trainer Hilary Hoffman, is set to open its first permanent studio at 68 Thomas Street in Tribeca on December 3. The brand started as an at-home fitness platform and has gained a reputation for its efficient, results-driven workouts after its successful six-month pop-up at 28 Warren Street earlier this year.

“Our first brick-and-mortar location at 68 Thomas Street is a natural extension of the momentum we built during our pop-up,” Hoffman shared with Athletech News. “From January to June, we used that time to test demand while mitigating risk—a principle that’s core to our business philosophy. The success of 28 Warren and the enthusiastic support from our downtown community made the decision to stay in this neighborhood an easy one.”

SotoMethod‘s move to Tribeca is also personally meaningful for Hoffman, who spent six years working and living in the area while at Goldman Sachs. “Establishing our flagship here feels like coming full circle, and I couldn’t be more excited to continue serving this vibrant community,” she added.

A Space Designed for Connection and Functionality

The 3,750-square-foot studio, designed by Hudson Union Architecture, combines the open feel of an urban loft with a minimalist, neutral aesthetic. It aims to create an inviting atmosphere for its in-person classes while maintaining a connection to the brand’s digital roots. The space will host 32 weekly classes and includes a digital recording studio to support SotoMethod’s streaming platform.

Hoffman described the design as blending strength and sophistication. “Our design aesthetic embodies strength, sleekness and sophistication, inspired by the timeless elegance of designers like Joseph Dirand. We wanted the studio to feel elevated yet welcoming, with every element—from the layout to the products we include—chosen intentionally.”

Guests attending in-person classes will have access to self-care products from Crown Affair and Dyson, as well as exclusive merchandise from brands like 437 and Set Active.

The Workout

SotoMethod’s approach has resonated with a diverse audience, including professionals, parents, and fitness enthusiasts looking for an effective, time-efficient workout. The method, which alternates 60-second isometric holds with 10 dynamic movements, is designed to maximize muscle engagement and recovery in each session.

“Many of our clients face challenges maintaining consistent routines due to demanding schedules,” Hoffman explained. “What they appreciate about SotoMethod is its proven results and flexibility. Whether they want a short, targeted workout or a more comprehensive session, the method can adapt to meet their needs.”

Hoffman emphasized that the workout is designed to be inclusive and accessible to people at all fitness levels, offering a balance of cardio and strength training to improve overall endurance and well-being.

A Community-Oriented Approach

While the workout itself is a key draw, Hoffman believes the sense of connection SotoMethod fosters is equally important. “I’m so proud of the community we’ve built through our app and studios,” she said. “Our goal is to meet people where they are and help them integrate fitness into their lives in a way that feels manageable. It’s about building strength—not just physically, but mentally as well.”

AI is now offering unprecedented levels of personalization and customizability

As artificial intelligence (AI) integrates into workout routines, workouts are now offering unprecedented levels of personalization and accessibility. FitnessAI, a platform leveraging AI technology to deliver such customized workouts, is looking ahead to how AI will continue to shape the future of fitness and wellness.

The Rise of AI in Fitness

The fitness industry is abuzz with innovations like AI chatbots, ChatGPT plug-ins, and AI-generated fitness content. While progress is accelerating, Kerri Walsh, COO of Appex Group Inc., which operates FitnessAI, told Athletech News that the industry is still on the cusp of realizing AI’s full potential. “It will likely take another year before AI models reach the sophistication needed to fully meet the growing demands of the fitness industry,” she noted.

One area where AI is already making a significant impact is personalization. “Our app, FitnessAI, provides highly personalized workouts using data from over 6 million users collected over the past 5 years. This level of customization simply wouldn’t be possible without AI,” Walsh explained.

The Future of AI in Wellness

As consumers increasingly expect tailored experiences, AI will be used more for wellness brands. Walsh predicts that as AI technology advances, personalization will deepen, allowing for greater precision in workout plans, nutrition strategies and recovery programs.

“AI tools will enable brands to push the boundaries of personalization,” Walsh noted. “For example, our latest feature, BodyScan, allows users to measure body metrics and track their progress using just an iPhone, offering a scalable, affordable alternative to expensive X-ray-based body measurement methods.”

Balancing Innovation with Privacy

As AI becomes more central to fitness, concerns around data security and privacy loom large. “Data security and privacy are major concerns when implementing AI solutions,” Walsh acknowledged. She emphasized the importance of adhering to strict privacy policies, obtaining clear user consent and being transparent about data use.

“When working with third-party AI services, it’s crucial to ensure data won’t be used or retained for model training without explicit permission. Companies must also stay updated on evolving regulations to protect user privacy effectively,” she added.

The Role of AI in Live Personal Training

Rather than replacing personal trainers, Walsh expects AI to enhance their capabilities. AI can help trainers scale their businesses by processing vast data sets, creating personalized workout plans, and tracking client progress.

“Trainers will continue to provide the human connection and personalized guidance that clients seek. AI will support, not replace, their expertise, allowing them to deliver even greater value,” Walsh explained. FitnessAI’s trainer-led apps already integrate AI to empower trainers, combining the best of human and machine intelligence.

What’s Next for AI in Fitness?

Looking ahead, Walsh envisions even greater integration of AI in fitness, with advancements that make personalized health and wellness accessible to all.

“AI is transforming personal fitness by offering a level of customization that was once only available through high-cost personal training,” Walsh concluded.

MAS Holdings, a textile giant that works with activewear brands like Nike and Lululemon, is evolving according to consumer demands

As sustainability becomes a priority for both consumers and manufacturers, activewear is undergoing a significant shift. Nemanthie Kooragamage, director of group sustainable business at MAS Holdings, a Sri Lankan apparel and textile giant known for working with activewear brands like Nike and Lululemon, spoke with Athletech News about the changing landscape. With over 24 years of experience, Kooragamage spoke to ATN about how activewear is evolving according to consumer demands.

Credit: MAS Holdings

Redefining Activewear Through Sustainability

“Activewear is the most interesting space when it comes to sustainability,” Kooragamage told Athletech News. “The materials matter deeply to the consumer from a performance, durability, comfort and feel perspective. Today’s consumers also care about the environmental impact of what they wear, especially when it comes to brands that align with their values and purpose.”

Traditionally reliant on synthetic materials like polyester and nylon for their performance qualities, activewear is now being changed by advancements in recycled and circular materials. Kooragamage pointed to “performance naturals,” a new category of fabrics that combine the benefits of natural and man-made cellulose fibers with enhanced properties to meet the demands of high-intensity activities.

“These materials are changing the game,” she stated. “They allow us to create products that meet sustainability goals while maintaining the performance consumers expect in activewear.”

Driving Innovation in Activewear

MAS Holdings partners with textile disruptors like Ambercycle and HeiQ AeoniQ, which are helping it scale the use of sustainable materials without compromising on quality or cost.

Ambercycle specializes in textile-to-textile recycling, ensuring old garments can be transformed into new, high-performance materials. HeiQ AeoniQ develops renewable and recyclable yarns that maintain the strength and flexibility necessary for activewear.

“In the next 10 years, the activewear value chain will be redefined,” Kooragamage said. “We’ll see less reliance on finite resources and more focus on keeping materials in use through circularity and renewable sources.”

The Intersection of Fitness and Sustainability

For those in fitness, sustainability in activewear can be about aligning one’s values with their lifestyle. Kooragamage notes that activewear consumers are uniquely positioned to drive demand for sustainable products because they prioritize performance and purpose equally.

“Activewear consumers want products that perform under pressure, whether they’re running marathons or attending high-intensity fitness classes, but they also want to feel good about the impact their purchases have on the planet,” she explained.

A Vision for the Future of Activewear

Kooragamage sees the future of activewear as a blend of performance, durability and sustainability. The challenge, she noted, is to create products that meet high-performance standards while incorporating eco-friendly materials at scale.

“Activewear sits at a unique intersection of fitness and sustainability, and it’s an area with so much potential to create meaningful change,” Kooragamage concluded. “Consumers are demanding it, and it’s our responsibility to deliver.”

The brothers partnered to raise awareness about critical men’s health issues

This November, Kam and Khalen Saunders joined forces with Movember, the global charity dedicated to men’s health, for their first-ever joint campaign. Kam, an artist and entertainer, and Khalen, a defensive tackle for the New Orleans Saints, united their platforms to raise awareness about critical issues like mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Movember’s annual campaign, which invites men to grow mustaches throughout November to spark conversations, gave Kam and Khalen an opportunity to shed light on men’s health in a relatable and impactful way.

For Khalen, the campaign was about more than just growing a mustache. “Once I learned about Movember’s message and cause, it was a no-brainer to get involved,” he explained to Athletech News. “Growing out my mustache is a physical aspect of the campaign, but this is about so much more – it’s about uplifting boys and men and creating a safe space for us to talk about our physical and mental health. Doing this with Kam made it even better because it gave us another reason to spend time together despite our busy schedules.”

Credit: Khalen Saunders

The Saunders brothers infused the campaign with energy, sharing fun, lighthearted moments while encouraging serious conversations about health.

“If Kam and I being goofy and growing a mustache can inspire even a few people to take better care of themselves or smile a bit brighter, that’s a huge win in my eyes,” Khalen said.

As an NFL player, Khalen knows firsthand the pressures men face, particularly when it comes to mental health. “The biggest challenge I’ve faced at a professional level is learning how to compartmentalize. Especially when you sustain an injury, you have to take the challenge in stride and prioritize your mental health so you can come back stronger,” he said.

Khalen credits the camaraderie of his team for helping him stay grounded. “I’m a big team guy. The vibes in the locker room do a lot for me mentally – it forces me to get things off my chest. These guys know me so well, and if I’m not cracking jokes like my usual self, they notice and help me through it. That sense of community lets me let go of burdens and focus on doing what I love.”

Reflecting on their experience with the campaign, Khalen noted, “As someone with friends across all income levels and walks of life, I know that physical and mental health issues don’t discriminate. I just hope to be a beacon for others and make people’s days a little brighter. If this campaign helped even one person take their health seriously or feel supported, it was all worth it.”

The virtual reality workout has launched its new series with Paris Hilton

Supernatural, the VR fitness platform, has launched a new workout series called Guest DJ, with Paris Hilton as its inaugural host. As the original influencer, Hilton brings her signature style and energy to this innovative fitness experience.

The Guest DJ series debuts with Paris leading one of Supernatural‘s signature Flow workouts. The session includes Hilton’s well-known catchphrases like “Loves It” integrated into the workout for a fun tone. Participants will strike targets to the beat of the music, flowing with the rhythm while virtually traveling to destinations around the world.

Supernatural blends entertainment and fitness, with immersive visuals and engaging music. The workout features songs like “Chasin’” by Meghan Trainor from her new album Infinite Icon. Paris Hilton and Supernatural Coach Ranier Pollard provide voiceovers, so users feel like they’re training alongside them in person.

Supernatural was launched in April 2020 after two years of development, designed for use with Meta Quest headsets. It offers a variety of workout types, like cardio, strength, meditation, and yoga-inspired sessions. In February 2023, Meta Platforms Inc. acquired its umbrella company Within Unlimited. Supernatural has gained recognition for catering workouts to those of all levels in an engaging format.

The Paris Hilton Guest DJ workout is currently available. For those new to the workout, Supernatural offers Fitness Packs starting at $349.98, which include a Meta Quest 3S headset and a one-year subscription to the platform.
