The NY-founded pickleball leader has unveiled a seasonal residency in West Palm Beach’s bustling CityPlace

CityPickle, an urban pickleball brand that recently secured a significant minority investment from The Avenue Sports Fund—a firm led by former Milwaukee Bucks owner Marc Lasry—is expanding its footprint to Florida.

The pickleball leader will have a seasonal residency at CityPlace, a highly trafficked hub for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Beginning this month through March 2025, CityPickle will operate 13 courts and court-adjacent cabanas at a future development site.

The pickleball pop-up will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and later when sunlight permits. Reservations are made online or via CityPickle’s app up to seven days in advance.  Seasonal memberships offer perks such as open play, early booking privileges, and discounts.

“There’s no better place to continue CityPickle’s expansion than West Palm Beach at CityPlace, the epicenter of entertainment, dining, and culture in this thriving community,” CityPickle co-founder Mary Cannon said.

CityPickle’s Florida expansion is the result of a collaboration with Related Ross, a mixed-use real estate and lifestyle company.

“We are thrilled to welcome CityPickle to West Palm Beach for the season,” Related Ross senior vice president Jordan Rathlev said. “Its debut at the center of CityPlace on future grounds of Related Ross’ lifestyle Class-A+ office building centerpieces, 10 and 15 CityPlace, which are slated to commence additional site work in October 2024, reflects our continued dedication to enhancing community engagement through innovative programming. We believe these courts will provide an opportunity to inspire growth, teamwork, and well-being, locally and within the broader community.”

Up north, CityPickle has made a name for itself since its New York City debut, which featured the launch of its first indoor pickleball club in Long Island City. The brand also operates 14 courts at Central Park’s iconic Wollman Rink and has a seasonal presence at several iconic New York locations, including Hudson Yards and Atlantic Terminal. In Pennsylvania, CityPickle has a seasonal home at Philadelphia’s Dilworth Park.
