The Little Gym began as the idea of one man who wanted to do something significant for children. Robin Wes, a musician, former gymnast, and kinesiologist, created The Little Gym concept in 1976 to help children develop vital motor skills in a fun, musical, and non-competitive environment. Robin envisioned a place where children could reap the benefits of physical activity while enhancing their social, emotional, and intellectual skills. Today, his original vision serves as a springboard for life’s adventures and a fun franchise opportunity.

The next chapter of our kids’ gym franchise began when The Little Gym joined the Unleashed Brands family in 2021. We are so excited to be part of their platform of youth enrichment brands impacting children and families throughout the world. F45 Training is a leading boutique fitness franchise platform founded in 2013 in Sydney, Australia. Specializing in offering functional interval training workouts, F45 utilizes proprietary technology and a highly systemized business model purpose-built for franchising.

Often credited as one of the fastest-growing franchise concepts in Australian history, F45 grew to 250 franchises by 2015 and started to expand internationally, with the United States being a key strategic focus.

F45 has received numerous awards recognizing innovation and excellence in the fitness industry. In 2018, F45 was awarded #1 gym chain for customer satisfaction in Australia, a feat that would be repeated for five straight years. In 2020, F45 partnered with the United States Marines to open the first F45 facility on Marine Air Force Base Miramar. Additionally, F45 is the first fitness network approved by the US Department of Defense to provide education and training to military personnel transitioning out of the US Defense Force.

In 2021, F45 launched FS8, a progressive new fitness concept that remixes the best elements of Pilates, tone, and yoga into a 3-in-1 low-impact, high-energy workout. In 2023, F45 launched VAURA Pilates, an athletic Pilates concept offering a super-premium, multi-sensory fitness experience.

F45 continually innovates by introducing new athletics programming, such as Wahlberg Week, Trials Week, mobility-focused warm-ups and cool-downs, and Flow, a yoga-inspired stretch workout. Additionally, F45 recently launched ancillary recovery services, including sauna, cold plunge, and percussion therapy.

Over the last year, F45 has established several key partnerships, including IKON Pass, Spartan, Strava and Whoop. In May 2024, F45 announced a 2-year partnership with HYROX.

What is your franchise’s unique selling proposition (USP)?

Proven Fitness Concept: F45 Training offers a unique and proven functional fitness concept adaptable to any fitness level. The workouts are based on high-intensity cardio circuits and resistance strength training, delivering real results in a short amount of time.

Community and Accountability: F45 Training emphasizes a strong sense of community and accountability among its members. This fosters a supportive environment for individuals to achieve their fitness goals that contributes to higher retention rates and word-of-mouth referrals.

Technology Integration: F45 Training incorporates proprietary technology into its operating model through the use of F45TV, the LionHeart heart rate monitor, and the F45 Training App. The app includes features such as booking and payment, benchmark testing and tracking, and a Challenge portal that includes a nutrition program and recipe library. F45TV and LionHeart display exercises, timers, and performance metrics such as heart rate and effort, enhancing the overall experience for members by providing real-time feedback on their progress and increasing their adherence as customers.

Scalable Business Model: F45 Training franchisees receive access to a business model designed to be scalable that allows for growth and expansion. With a standardized approach to operations, marketing, and training, franchisees can replicate success across multiple locations.

Continuous Support and Training: Franchisees receive comprehensive real estate guidance related to target markets, exclusive trade areas, transactional assistance (site selection, preferred brokers, and retail lease legal partners), construction coaching and project management, network onboarding via a strict studio onboarding cadence, and ongoing operational support from the F45 Training corporate team. This includes access to the F45 Franchise Playbook, the F45 Education Platform, regular coach and performance workshops, relevant and up-to-date athletics programming centralized in phases, and operational SOPs and guidelines.

Award-Winning Brand Recognition and Marketing: F45 Training has built a robust brand presence globally with localized strategies, benefiting franchisees through increased brand recognition and marketing support. Franchisees have access to best practices guidelines, the Location Marketing Platform, and preferred agency partners to drive studio member marketing strategies, all supporting ongoing lead generation and differentiating the franchise from competitors.

How many units do you currently have? How many new ones are opening per month and in which geographic areas are you most popular?

Approximately 1,700 open F45 studios and growing along with our two Pilates concepts and our new recovery concept.  We are very committed to responsible growth with the right franchise partners.

What are the key revenue streams for franchisees?

Membership Fees: Recurring revenue is earned through the sale of memberships, which provide access to in-studio workouts as well as our library of app-based at-home workout content. Memberships are generally available in various types, including unlimited and limited memberships as well as class packages.

Merchandise Sales: Franchisees can generate additional revenue by selling branded merchandise such as apparel, accessories, and equipment. This not only boosts profitability but also promotes brand loyalty among members.

F45 Training Challenge: The F45 Training Challenge is a comprehensive fitness and nutrition program run three times per year designed to help members achieve their health and wellness goals. This 45-day program combines tailored workout plans, a structured nutrition guide, and a supportive community environment to deliver transformative results. Participants have access to meal plans, recipes, and tracking tools via the F45 Training App, ensuring they stay motivated and on track throughout their fitness journey.

Recovery Services: Introducing recovery protocols like infrared sauna, cold plunge, and percussion therapy can provide an additional revenue stream for franchisees. These services appeal to members looking to enhance their recovery, reduce muscle soreness, and improve overall well-being.

New Fitness Concepts: In addition to our namesake F45 Training brand, we also offer two innovative brands in the Pilates categories: FS8 and VAURA Pilates. FS8 is our new hybrid concept centered around Pilates, tone and yoga training; FS8 appeals to individuals seeking a balance of strength, flexibility, and mindfulness. VAURA is our athletic reformer Pilates concept targeting those looking to improve core strength, stability, and mobility.

By diversifying their offerings, franchisees can attract a broader range of clientele and maximize revenue potential, owning wellness in their communities.

How is your brand positioned for future growth and expansion in the next 5-10 years?

F45 Training is strategically positioned for future growth and expansion in the next 5-10 years through a multifaceted approach that incorporates the following elements:

Market Trends and Demand: The fitness industry is experiencing significant growth globally, driven by increasing health consciousness and a growing focus on wellness. We believe F45 Training is well-positioned to capitalize on these trends by offering a proven and effective workout concept that appeals to a wide range of demographics, including millennials, Gen Z, and older adults.

Innovation and Adaptability: F45 Training has demonstrated a commitment to innovation and adaptability, continually evolving its workout programs, technology integration, and ancillary offerings to meet changing consumer preferences. By staying ahead of trends and embracing new technologies, F45 can maintain its competitive edge and attract new members.

Global Expansion Strategy: F45 Training has already established a strong presence in key markets worldwide, including North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The brand’s global expansion strategy involves continued growth of all three brands through targeted marketing, strategic partnerships, and flexible franchise development initiatives to enter new markets and penetrate existing ones further.

With established footholds in Australasia, Europe, and North America, F45 will continue to prioritize these core markets for sustained growth. These regions offer strong consumer demand for fitness services, favorable economic conditions, and a supportive regulatory environment.

To expand into other markets, F45 Training will leverage the master franchising model. This approach involves partnering with highly capable local partners who possess specialized knowledge of their respective markets. These master franchisees will oversee franchise development, marketing, and operations within their territories, ensuring localized strategies and rapid expansion.

Franchisee Support and Development: F45 Training places a strong emphasis on franchisee support and development, providing comprehensive training, operational assistance, and ongoing support to ensure the success of its franchisees. By fostering a network of successful and satisfied franchisees, F45 can drive growth through word-of-mouth referrals and expansion into new territories.

Diversification of Offerings: In addition to its core functional HIIT workout concept, F45 has diversified its portfolio with the introduction of FS8 and VAURA Pilates. This allows the brand to appeal to a broader audience and capture market share in complementary and high-growth segments of the fitness industry, such as yoga and Pilates.

Relevance of Workout Programming: F45 is committed to keeping its workout programming highly relevant by continuously innovating and adapting to changing consumer preferences and fitness trends. This includes incorporating new exercises, equipment, and training techniques to deliver effective and engaging workouts that resonate with members.

Your Workout, Your Way: Recognizing the demand for optionality and flexibility, F45 is focused on introducing a membership offering that allows members to travel and train at any F45 studio worldwide. This feature provides flexibility and convenience for maintaining fitness routines while traveling.

F45 will maintain and continue to optimize its at-home, in-app workouts, offering virtual, on-demand workouts accessible through digital platforms. By providing a seamless and personalized at-home fitness experience, F45 can reach a wider audience and enhance member engagement.

What are the minimum capital requirements, initial investment costs and ongoing fees for franchisees? Are financing or other fundraising options available?

The minimum capital requirements, initial investment costs, and ongoing fees for F45 Training franchisees can vary depending on factors such as location, size of the facility, and local market conditions. However, here is a general overview:

Initial Investment: The initial investment to open an F45 Training franchise typically ranges from $294,200 USD to $719,100 USD. This includes expenses such as franchise fees, leasehold improvements, equipment purchases, marketing expenses, and working capital.

Franchise Fee: The initial franchise fee for F45 Training is $60,000 USD. This fee grants franchisees the right to use the F45 brand, trademarks, and business system, as well as access to training and support from the corporate team.

Royalty Fees: F45 Training franchisees are required to pay ongoing royalty fees, which are usually a percentage of gross revenue with a minimum payment due each month. This monthly fee is the greater of: (i) 7% of gross revenue and (ii) $2,500 USD per month and covers ongoing support, and access to updated workout programming.

Brand Fund Contribution: Franchisees are also required to contribute to a national brand fund, which supports brand advertising and promotional campaigns. This monthly contribution is the greater of (i) 2% of gross revenue and (ii) $250 USD per month.

Other Operating Expenses: In addition to the above costs, franchisees will incur ongoing operating expenses such as rent, utilities, payroll, insurance, and equipment maintenance.

As for financing and fundraising options, F45 Training does not directly offer financing to franchisees. F45 Training has relationships with numerous third-party financing sources, including Swoop Funding, a funding brokerage platform that assists franchisees to obtain third-party financing.

Franchisees may also explore various financing options available through third-party lenders, banks, or Small Business Administration (SBA) loans to fund their initial investment. Additionally, some franchisees may choose to use personal savings, investments from partners, or other sources of capital to finance their franchise venture.

It’s important for potential franchisees to conduct thorough due diligence, consult with financial advisors, and carefully review the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) provided by F45 Training to understand all the financial requirements and obligations associated with owning an F45 franchise.

What training and support do you provide to franchisees, including marketing, advertising, technology, equipment and real estate?

We have made significant upgrades to our franchisee-facing support systems over the last two years. These support improvements include critical activities that take place between the execution of a franchise agreement and a new studio opening, such as real estate selection, lease negotiation, construction management, and pre-open membership marketing.

Immediately following the execution of a franchise agreement, franchisees commence a cohesive onboarding experience involving F45’s onboarding managers and real estate and construction teams. Franchisees are provided access to preferred site selection AI maps, pipeline dashboards for viable site locations, complimentary access to F45’s preferred, brand-specific commercial brokers, and preferred lease counsel alongside development and construction support ranging from F45 construction coaching to full-scope, third-party project management.

Do you grant exclusive rights to a specific geographic area, or are there any limitations on competition from other franchisees?

F45 Training issues exclusive territory rights with its Franchise Agreements. F45 has meticulously crafted a brand-specific F45 real estate policy. Through F45’s internal Real Estate team and mapping and data intelligence partnerships, F45 will assign a specific exclusive trade area designed to maximize potential client acquisition and retention based on various demographic and psychographic data. F45 is focused on metro market franchisee peer-to-peer relationships, boutique fitness market saturation, and proximity to other F45 locations.

Can you provide any pertinent financial performance details that would assist potential franchisees?

We cannot provide this information based on FDD Regulations

Pvolve is an omnichannel fitness company with an on-demand platform and franchise studio network. The brand uses its own proprietary methodology based in low-impact functional movement and pairs it with patented resistance equipment to build strong, mobile bodies.

The brand’s mission is to help its members live younger, longer. Following a scoliosis diagnosis in 2017, founder Rachel Katzman was introduced to functional fitness, which transformed her understanding of what fitness can do. Not only did she have transformative physical results, but her back pain went away. This experience catalyzed her mission to spread awareness for holistic fitness – and the notion that fitness does not need to be punishing to be effective.

Rachel brought on a Clinical Advisory Board made up of doctors, researchers, clinicians, and highly credentialed trainers to help build out what is Pvolve today: a workout that helps you break a sweat, not your body.

In June 2023, world-renowned actress, producer, and director Jennifer Aniston officially partnered with Pvolve after falling in love with the method as a member and experiencing a transformation of her own. Through its hybrid fitness model, Pvolve can be experienced through a streaming membership that offers over 1,300 on-demand classes, a two-way, live virtual studio, and franchise studio locations throughout the US and Canada.

What is your franchise’s unique selling proposition (USP)?

Pvolve is a proprietary fitness method unlike anything else on the market that combines functional fitness with patented resistance equipment designed specifically for the brand. The method is overseen by a Clinical Advisory Board (CAB) made up of Medical Doctors, a Physical Therapist, and a Sports Physiologist. With the help of the CAB & Top Trainers, Pvolve is committed to science and validating the fitness method through clinical research trials with leading universities on lower back pain, mobility, strength, and lean muscle mass.

Pvolve is an omnichannel offering that can be experienced both online and in one of its studio locations, giving members the ultimate convenience and flexibility to work out whenever and wherever they want. By showing up where our members are and reducing the friction of everyday barriers, we naturally see higher member engagement and a lift in retention.

There are currently three owned and operated studios in NYC, LA, and Chicago, plus franchises in San Diego, Nashville, Fort Worth, TX, Algonquin, IL, and Canadian locations in Victoria and  Calgary. The company also has nearly 50 additional franchise studios in development.

How many units do you currently have? How many new ones are opening per month and in which geographic areas are you most popular?

Pvolve currently has 10 studios in the US and two in Canada. The brand is opening one-to-two studios per month, and has nearly 50 studios in development. Pvolve has seen tremendous growth in part thanks to the streaming platform, which offers global access to the workout, and the collaboration with Jennifer Aniston, who partnered with the company in 2023. New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles represent the longest open studio locations, but the studio business is rapidly expanding nationwide, with locations opening in more than 10+ states including, but not limited to, California, Texas, New Jersey, Arizona, Tennessee, Georgia, and Colorado. Pvolve is anticipating additional expansion across the South and Southeast through 2024.

What are the key revenue streams for franchisees?

The key revenue streams include recurring revenue memberships, class packs, private training, and events. Franchisees also generate revenue through sales of Pvolve’s proprietary equipment, apparel, and other retail. Franchise owners are excited by Pvolve’s multi-revenue stream business model.

How is your brand positioned for future growth and expansion in the next 5-10 years?

Pvolve is very well-positioned for growth across the board. With Jennifer Aniston on board, the brand’s global awareness has exploded; her partnership has propelled massive interest and trial for the method both in studio and digitally.

The hybrid nature of the business model is a powerful multiplier; as our studio footprint expands, it helps to grow our subscriber base, and vice versa. This not only serves as a growth driver for the business, but is a key differentiator within the fitness space. Most fitness solutions offer in-person or digital, but not both, yet today’s consumer lives a hybrid life. Pvolve meets our members where they are on any given day – whether that means a 55-minute in-person class, or a 20-minute quickie workout at home. Further, the method’s emphasis on low-impact, functional workouts that support the body and encourage longevity is in step with macro-consumer trends.

Pvolve studios are expanding nationwide, with nearly 50 franchise locations in development, including 20+ locations expected to be open by the end of 2024. Looking ahead, we are on track to have more than 100 locations open by 2027.

What are the minimum capital requirements, initial investment costs and ongoing fees for franchisees? Are financing or other fundraising options available?

The minimum liquid capital requirement to become a part of the Pvolve brand is $250,000, with a minimum net worth of $750,000. A single franchise has a fee of $50,000, with a discounted franchise fee for multi-unit developers. Pvolve does not offer internal financing options, but can refer franchisees to preferred vendors and guide the franchisees through the funding process.

What training and support do you provide to franchisees, including marketing, advertising, technology, equipment and real estate?

From day one, a Pvolve Franchise Owner receives a full support team that offers assistance including finding the right real estate, lease negotiation, construction and design, team member training, and sales and marketing.

  • Each location is assigned a dedicated Franchise Performance Consultant to guide the New Studio Opening Process and coach on KPIs, Best Practices, and overall unit sales and operations post-opening.
  • The Pvolve team will help identify the perfect studio location and will work with the franchisee on all aspects of design and construction.
  • Fitness Training is one of the most important parts of the whole process, as studio trainers are the heartbeat of the studio. Franchise Trainers are guided through 100 hours of training to learn the unique Pvolve Method, how to teach and structure a class, how to give cues and adjustments, and beyond.
  • Each location receives comprehensive sales and marketing training, marketing assets, approved vendors and marketing software to drive lead generation and memberships of the studio. This begins with presale (prior to studio opening) and continues beyond to support unit performance.

In addition to each of the Readiness Teams outlined, each new Franchise Owner will attend a three-day New Studio Training Session that covers the full spectrum of the business. This seminar covers a deep dive into the studio business model, our proprietary equipment, sales process, marketing plan, and studio operations. Ongoing learning and development are offered through Pvolve Academy, a learning management system that offers fresh content and courses for continued support and education. This comprehensive training will set a franchisee up for success from before their doors open and beyond.

Do you grant exclusive rights to a specific geographic area or are there any limitations on competition from other franchisees?

We offer a protected area of approximately 50,000 people. Further details are outlined in item 12 of our franchise disclosure document (FDD).

Can you provide any pertinent financial performance details that would assist potential franchisees?

Financial Performance data can be obtained in item 19 of our FDD.

What are the key contact details for reaching out to your company and exploring potential collaboration?

Those interested in exploring ownership opportunities can visit pvolvefranchise.com to fill out the required information. From there, a member of the Pvolve team will reach out for more details.

SWEAT440 is a unique HIIT-style concept with new classes starting every 10 minutes. This ultimate flexibility model is not only appealing to our customers but also to business owners as it leads to some incredible operational benefits.

In an increasingly competitive fitness market, we have a truly unique concept that has captured the attention of all those consumers with busy or unpredictable schedules. Efficiency is at the core of our operation philosophy and we have designed a business operation that is extremely simple to own and manage. We have focused heavily on our training and support as well as our data analytics and reporting to give our franchisees the tools they need for success.

Our first studio opened in 2018 in Miami Beach and has grown to 20 locations. 16 Of those locations have opened in the past 18 months. We chose not to sell franchises during this time to ensure successful openings and optimize the operations of our franchisees. We just reopened sales and already have another 20 units in the pipeline to open and hundreds of franchise inquiries. We are only selling multi-unit franchise deals to well-qualified franchisees with significant operation experience. We require a minimum of 5 unit commitments and are limiting our territories to being within the United States, for now. We are okay with growing slowly and strategically with the right franchise partners instead of growing quickly and recklessly. Our franchisees’ success is at the core of our focus.

What is your franchise’s unique selling proposition (USP)?

We are the most convenient fitness offering in the industry. With approximately 70 classes per day, we offer a great “no excuses” option for the busy consumer. Our members attend more classes on average than they can at a traditional fitness studio. Our pricing and labor models have significant built-in flexibility which allows for our studio to be hyper-granular in maximizing profitability. We have also focused heavily on implementing systems to optimize ownership and allow for multi-unit owners to have all the data and support they need to successfully operate their studios.

How many units do you currently have? How many new ones are opening per month and in which geographic areas are you most popular?

We currently have 20 open units and another 20 on the way. We are focused mostly on the East Coast with South Florida being our most dense area. We are opening about 1 studio a month currently but we expect that to double in 2025.

What are the key revenue streams for franchisees?

We are heavily focused on RMR (recurring monthly revenue). Our RMR memberships account for about 90% of our revenue which allows for significant revenue stability. The remaining is drop-ins and class packages as well as third-party booking systems.

cred: Sweat440

How is your brand positioned for future growth and expansion in the next 5-10 years?

We chose to go slowly over the past two years so that we can go fast in the next few years. We have built out robust reporting and analytics platforms as well as training and support platforms. We recently made some key hires to our corporate team and are well-capitalized to ensure steady growth over the coming years. With several key territories still available we are excited to partner with experienced operators to expand the brand quickly yet strategically.

What training and support do you provide to franchisees, including marketing, advertising, technology, equipment and real estate?

We have a National site selection team with demographic analytics capabilities as well as lease negotiations etc. We have architects and project managers for your construction process. We recently purchased a marketing company and have ample support for all things marketing such as SEO, Social Media, Meta and Google ad management, and grassroots marketing support. For operational training and ongoing support, we have a comprehensive Learning Management Software as well as an internal communication system that connects all studios with the necessary support team. We also do in-person training at our HQ and also on-site when needed.

Do you grant exclusive rights to a specific geographic area or are there any limitations on competition from other franchisees?

Yes. During the franchise agreement process we design a protected territory and a development schedule. We aren’t in the business of selling franchises but rather in opening successful studios. So we don’t ever want to overcrowd a market and cannibalize our franchisees.

Can you provide any pertinent financial performance details that would assist potential franchisees?

MADabolic was founded in 2011 by former professional hockey players Brandon Cullen and Kirk DeWaele. Through their hockey careers, the duo each self-identified as average players who leveraged fitness to their advantage on the ice. In life after hockey, the pair set out to create a high-quality training program that offered a progressive yet sustainable approach to strength training for the everyday athlete, filling a void in the market, and MADabolic was born.

The team began franchising the concept a few years later, and today has 33 units open and operating with another 80+ in development. MADabolic is uniquely positioned for continued growth as strength training becomes more mainstream and as boutique fitness continues to grow and outpace growth in the rest of the fitness sector. MADabolic provides a best-in-class training program with an emphasis on smaller class sizes and one-on-one attention in a group class setting.

What sets MADabolic apart as a franchise investment opportunity is the strength, structure, and accountability behind everything the brand does. Strength is our training program, purposefully planned 52 weeks in advance. Structure is the strategic partnerships, operating systems, and marketing resources franchise owners gain access to – for those who like to ruthlessly follow a game plan, this may be the opportunity for you.

Accountability is the team behind the brand and their dedication to MADabolic Franchise Partners’ continued success throughout their tenure with the brand. MADabolic focuses on quality over quantity and introduces a sustainable approach to aging athletically to the fitness market, delivering results on and off the training floor.

What is your franchise’s unique selling proposition (USP)?

MADabolic stands out for its top-notch training program and the depth of ongoing resources & support provided. MADabolic will thrive as a seasoned concept while strength continues to become more mainstream in the industry. MADabolic also provides ongoing training and resources that are second to none. From sales and marketing resources to guidance with hiring the right team to strategic partnerships and beyond, MADabolic has the tools to support any stage in the entrepreneurial journey.

How many units do you currently have? How many new ones are opening per month and in which geographic areas are you most popular?

33 in operation, 81 in development, about 14 of which should be opening this year. We have a strong presence across the Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic region and across Texas. Several studios are also in development in Florida and Colorado, and we’ve recently begun to see more interest from the West Coast.

How is your brand positioned for future growth and expansion in the next 5-10 years?

What are the minimum capital requirements, initial investment costs and ongoing fees for franchisees? Are financing or other fundraising options available?

What training and support do you provide to franchisees, including marketing, advertising, technology, equipment and real estate?

MADabolic offers extensive training and support through development and operation. During pre-opening, a member of our corporate team will operate as your single point of contact to break down the steps of opening your business, including introducing you to strategic partners at the right time.

Real estate selection is informed by psychographic heat maps that identify top neighborhoods where the core MADabolic consumer lives, works, and plays, and the brand’s preferred real estate partner to help put you in the right location under the right terms.

While onboarding, numerous trainings are available, including various technology trainings, sales and marketing trainings for owner-operators and general managers, and our multi-day in-house Training Camp to onboard training staff to the MADabolic methodology and how to provide world-class hospitality and one-on-one attention to detail in a 50-minute strength-driven training class.

After opening, a member of the MADabolic corporate team will schedule monthly calls through your first year in business to help troubleshoot and grow your business. Additionally, the brand offers ongoing education through an internal learning management system, quarterly system-wide calls, and its annual franchise conference.

Do you grant exclusive rights to a specific geographic area or are there any limitations on competition from other franchisees?

Your territory will include a minimum of 20,000 individuals between the ages of 20-50.

Can you provide any pertinent financial performance details that would assist potential franchisees?

OutFit Training is an innovative mobile fitness service founded in 2021 that aims to deliver convenient, affordable, expertly-led group fitness classes and personal training to parks and neighborhoods across the country. The business was created by Randy Hetrick the founder of TRX. Hetrick, a former Navy SEAL who built TRX from a garage startup to one of the leading global brands in fitness, believes he’s found the next big white space opportunity in the market: Outdoor workouts enabled by modern technology and curated as an exciting group fitness experience.

The initial goal was to create a transformative, outdoor mobile fitness service that provides inspiring, convenient, affordable boutique exercise experiences to fitness consumers everywhere. An equally important objective was to create a financially realistic opportunity for Fitness Professionals to buy, build, and own their own fitness businesses with a clear path to generating real net worth for their families.

After investigating the fragmented, fly-by-night landscape of outdoor fitness, and interviewing dozens of entrepreneurial FitPros who lacked the capital required to open more expensive brick and mortar studios, Hetrick believed that he had found the industry’s next big growth opportunity.  The magic sauce? A low-cost, low-overhead startup opportunity for FitPros which — because of its low-cost structure — provides a high-end, boutique fitness experience to its members at a bargain price.

Outfit is structured as a franchise, with operations in the Fort Lauderdale and Atlanta regions, and is targeting rapid expansion across the southern half of the United States.

What is your franchise’s unique selling proposition (USP)?

OutFit offers the lowest startup and operating costs in the business and extraordinary speed to market. Franchisees can be up and running in just 90 days for under $100k.

Our customized training vans come fully equipped to provide high-quality functional training experiences to serve large group fitness classes, customized group programs, and personal training clients. OutFit classes offer a wide variety of expertly designed workout options, all connected by a cutting-edge technology platform and convenient consumer app that provides the geo-location, scheduling, and billing to support our franchise partners.

credit: OutFit

The OutFit technology infrastructure elegantly connects the consumer to a mobile network of vans and coaches with services priced as a tiered, monthly subscription membership. Our subscription model enables the operator to build a stable, predictable revenue stream, with a variety of service offerings designed to meet the individual preferences, goals, and budget of each member.

OutFit delivers high-quality HIIT workouts, with group programs built centrally and pushed to the vans for easy execution by the coaches. Our inspiring group workouts leverage beautiful outdoor spaces under the sunshine and blue skies, creating a member experience like none other.

Our company is built on a legacy of service.  We are proud to provide free family memberships to active-duty municipal 1st Responders in the cities we serve.  It is OutFit’s way of giving back and thanking those who go in harm’s way to keep our communities safe.

How many units do you currently have? How many new ones are opening per month and in which geographic areas are you most popular?

We currently operate 3 corporately owned units serving half a dozen locations throughout the greater Fort Lauderdale market. The purpose of the corporate units was to validate the business model, to learn, and to optimize the systems and processes to enable OutFit to scale its turnkey solution via franchise partners.

OutFit began selling franchises in mid-2023 and recently helped open the first location of a multi-unit franchise in Atlanta, Georgia. The company seeks to open another 10 locations this year across the southern half of the country — specifically targeting Florida, the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, and Arizona. OutFit is also currently fielding inbound interest from California, Maryland, and Ohio as well.

What are the key revenue streams for franchisees?

There are 4 primary streams of revenue for our franchisees. Group subscriptions: The “bread and butter” of OutFit’s operation is a recurring monthly subscription to participate in large group workouts delivered by our vans. We offer a variety of subscription options including 1x per week and 2x per week, however, our most popular subscription provides unlimited access to classes for just $99 per month and unlimited family access for just $129 per month (up to 5 family members).

credit: OutFit

Personal Training: OutFit offers personal training packages based upon session frequency: 1x per week; 2x per week; and 3x per week.  These PT services are unique in that they include a “plus one” guest who may attend your PT sessions with you free of charge.  Personal Training members also benefit from free unlimited access to our group workouts as well.

Corporate Wellness: Another great source of revenue is companies that value fitness as an amenity for their teams and their culture. As businesses seek to entice employees to return to the office, benefits like free fitness classes carry significant value. There is also a growing recognition by insurers that healthy workforces reduce the expense of claims, and companies with healthy employees are being rewarded with reduced premiums. The high capacity of OutFit’s mobile vans enables a single van to service even the largest of corporate clients—providing an excellent source of ancillary revenue to the franchise operator.

Custom Programs: From school athletics, golf facilities, and club sports teams to community events and philanthropic activations – OutFit operators can deliver workouts to literally every imaginable customer on every occasion at any location. From birthdays to bachelorette weekends to pop-ups in the Hamptons, the possibilities are endless – each opportunity contributing additional income to grow the bottom line.

How is your brand positioned for future growth and expansion in the next 5-10 years?

Having established OutFit as the gold standard of outdoor fitness, we are now selling franchise rights and focusing on the southern half of the country as our initial target. Our goal is to establish a foothold across the warmer states first and then to gradually expand northward as our brand matures.

Finding great franchise partners is the key to success. We believe that OutFit offers an excellent business opportunity to any aspiring entrepreneur but we feel that the fit is especially good for Fitness Professionals, Veterans, Retired Professional Athletes, and for couples looking to launch a family business together in the realm of health & fitness. Because of our low startup costs and low monthly operating expenses, we believe that OutFit has unlimited potential to scale across the United States and beyond.

What are the minimum capital requirements, initial investment costs and ongoing fees for franchisees? Are financing or other fundraising options available?

Initial Franchise Fee: $34,500

  • Total investment range: $93,800 – $199,000 the components of which are detailed in our Item 7 disclosure. The low end of the range reflects a purchase with financing, while the high end reflects an all-cash buy-in.
  • Recommended Net Worth: $200,000
  • Royalty & Fees: 7% of revenues (or minimum royalty of $495 per month); Brand marketing 1%; Technology fee $295 per month
  • Eligible Discounts: We offer a 25% discount off our Initial Franchise Fee for spouses of active duty military members, military veterans, and active or veteran 1st Responders.

What training and support do you provide to franchisees, including marketing, advertising, technology, equipment and real estate?

Our robust franchise training program is a comprehensive curriculum spanning Business Operations, Technology, Fitness Operations, and Marketing – all designed to set up our franchise partners for success. Through a combination of virtual and live learning, we provide an experience that is comprehensive, flexible and effective.

Operational training starts immediately following the signing of the franchise agreement. During this pre-opening training phase, up to five team members will each have access to 15+ hours of online training and 25 hours of on-site training at a designated training unit.

Following the completion of online training (which is supported by virtual coaching and mentorship from the HQ team) the franchisee operating team attends a 3-day intensive on-site visit to headquarters. This enables franchisee team members to complete the required proficiency tests and internalize all of the elements needed to execute the OutFit business plan and deliver high-quality experiences to OutFit members in their territory.

The OutFit partner training program includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Business Operations
    • Strategic overview and supporting assets
    • Selecting training grounds and permitting
    • Financial metrics and reporting systems
    • Hiring qualified staff, incentives & performance management
    • Schedule building and daily operations
    • Sales training
    • Checklists and audit documents
  • Technology
    • Tech stack familiarization
    • Member app management
    • Coach app management
    • Workout builder and Timer management
    • Analytics & reporting
  • Fitness Operations
    • Best practices of a curated outdoor boutique experience
    • Arrange basic fitness certification; arrange TRX Qualification
    • OutFit Coach Certification
    • Closing leads on-site
    • Class performance measurement & analytics
  • Marketing
    • Brand standards, marketing strategy, templates, and collateral
    • Social media channel establishment and management
    •  Presales/Pre-Opening playbook
    • Ongoing promotional strategies & tactics (ie. partnerships, events, on-the-ground popup activations, etc.)

Do you grant exclusive rights to a specific geographic area or are there any limitations on competition from other franchisees?

As an emerging franchisor, we have the luxury of being able to award generously proportioned exclusive territory rights to our early franchise partners. We collaborate with the franchise partner and our demographic analysis vendor to determine to optimal placement of territories. We then assign an exclusive territory that well-exceeds the population criteria for the anticipated number of units. This will enable OutFit franchisees to grow beyond their initially purchased rights without having to travel in order to expand.

We grant franchisees exclusive rights to their defined territory and support them to grow aggressively with the goal of operating multiple units within the defined area. At this early stage identifying high-quality franchise partners is critical, so OutFit is highly selective in the franchises we award.  Fewer and better is the best course.

Can you provide any pertinent financial performance details that would assist potential franchisees?

At this early stage in our franchise development, we have not yet published an Item 19 Financial Disclosure Statement for the units within our system. Because of that, we are legally prohibited from sharing financial performance details regarding our corporate operations. However, we are happy to introduce well-qualified parties with prospective interest to our existing franchisees for a discussion of their business, their experience with OutFit, and their plans for success.

Founded in 2012 in San Diego, YogaSix is the largest franchised yoga brand in the United States that offers a broad range of heated and non-heated yoga classes, boot camp style fitness classes and meditation accessible to all. In 2018, YogaSix was acquired by Xponential and began franchising the concept. Class formats include Y6 101, Y6 Restore, Y6 Slow Flow, Y6 Hot, Y6 Power and Y6 Sculpt Flow.

Classes at YogaSix eliminate the intimidation factor that many people feel when trying yoga for the first time, offering a fresh perspective on one of the world’s oldest fitness practices. YogaSix teachers have been trained in the YogaSix methodology to provide a consistent but creative experience for each class type every time. They teach in a way that is easy for everyone to follow and understand. Holding a five-star rating with Yoga Alliance, YogaSix also offers two fully accredited Teacher Training programs: 200 Hours and 300 Hours.

What is your franchise’s unique selling proposition (USP)?

YogaSix is not only the largest franchised yoga brand, but it is also the only franchised yoga brand with the scale and platform that franchisees can leverage for their own success.

How many units do you currently have? How many new ones are opening per month and in which geographic areas are you most popular?

YogaSix has 200+ locations open globally. Because of the highly inclusive nature of yoga as a modality, YogaSix has many markets that have a concentration of studios, including cities and regional markets.

What are the key revenue streams for franchisees?

The YogaSix franchise opportunity offers a recurring revenue model where the main revenue stream is monthly membership dues. There is a revenue stream from retail sales from the boutique in each studio revenue as well as revenue from hosting Teacher Training programs.

How is your brand positioned for future growth and expansion in the next 5-10 years?

YogaSix is perfectly positioned to continue leveraging the growing consumer demand for inclusive, accessible yoga and its incredible health and wellness benefits, particularly as the awareness for focusing on improving our mental health and physical longevity has significantly heightened post-pandemic. As an Xponential brand, YogaSix has the platform, playbook and resources to effectively scale the brand globally.

What are the minimum capital requirements, initial investment costs and ongoing fees for franchisees? Are financing or other fundraising options available?

Minimum liquid capital required: $100,000

Net Worth: $500,000

Initial Investment Range: $294,836 – $499,236

Royalty: 7%

Marketing Fund: 2%

Financing: Via approved third parties

What training and support do you provide to franchisees, including marketing, advertising, technology, equipment and real estate?

We believe extensive and ongoing training and support is pivotal for success as a YogaSix Franchise Owner and YogaSix has the resources and network to ensure continued growth & support for franchise owners. We provide extensive ongoing training, weekly & monthly update webinars and one-on-one support as a studio matures.

Do you grant exclusive rights to a specific geographic area or are there any limitations on competition from other franchisees?

Using the best territory mapping software in the industry, we are able to curate a territory proposal for our franchisees to develop their studio or studios within their market.  The development area that a franchisee ultimately moves forward with is protected for multi-unit expansions while determining sites for each of the studios to scale. Once a studio has a site determined, an exclusive radius protection is established of a 2-mile radius or population density of 50,000 people (whichever is greater) around that studio. Another franchisee cannot open within a protected radius or development area of a franchisee.

Can you provide any pertinent financial performance details that would assist potential franchisees?

The Corporate Team is also focused on finding ongoing opportunities to drive incremental revenue for studios including through strategic partnerships e.g. Optum, Gympass, American Specialty Health, Classpass and lululemon.

During the due diligence of the Discovery Process, franchise candidates are able to validate with existing franchise owners about their experience, how their studios are doing, and how much are they making – in parallel with reviewing the franchise disclosure document.

What are the key contact details for reaching out to your company and exploring potential collaboration?
